Important Steps To Take When Dealing With An Earache

Health & Medical Blog

When you get an earache, you may not be able to function properly throughout the day. This is stressful, especially if you have work or school. To deal with an earache, you can take these steps:

Utilize Heat

Perhaps one of the easiest ways to get rid of an earache is to apply heat to your ears. This provides temporary relief and sometimes can get rid of your earache if it's not too severe.

For heat, you can rest your ears on a heating pad. These pads are not too expensive, and they often have a controller. This controller makes it easy for you to customize how hot the pad gets. These heat pads often have covers that are machine washable. This allows you to wash off bacteria, so your ear infection doesn't become worse.

Put Garlic Oil in Ear

Another cost-effective option for getting rid of your earache is to put garlic oil in your ear. This type of oil can work deep within your ear canals, which is ideal if your earache is a little more severe.

To create this oil, first place some garlic and olive oil in a pan, and begin cooking both ingredients for several hours. After it has cooked, put some gloves on and squeeze the garlic, getting as much of the oil as you can out of it. Put this oil in a squeeze bottle, and then squeeze some amounts of oil into your ear every night before you go to bed. Repeat these steps every day until your pain goes away.

Go to an Urgent Care Center

If the earache is too severe, or you simply don't know how to get rid of these aches, you can go to an urgent care center, like Harrison Medical Center. These care centers give you access to specialists, who can diagnose your ear pain and give you specialized supplements, such as Vitamin A, C, and Echinacea. The specialist may also give you some antibiotics and analgesics to alleviate your pain quickly.

There are several advantages of urgent care services. For one, no appointments are necessary to receive treatment. You can simply walk in and get the help you need quickly. Urgent care are also located near residential areas, so you don't have to drive as far to get to them.

Earaches are painful and stressful, and they hinder your ability to have a good day at work or school. In order to deal with these pains, you can utilize heat, put garlic oil in your ear, or go to an urgent care center.
