4 Ways To Combat Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweating is an embarrassing problem to have. The truth is, however, that many people suffer with hyperhidrosis, which is the official name for excessive sweating. Sweat is generated by the sweat glands, which are found in certain parts of the body, including:

There are a few surgical procedures that can be performed to help with excessive sweating. These surgeries include:

  • Removal of the sweat glands from the underarms
  • Cutting the nerves that send signals to the sweat glands

While both of these types of surgeries can help with hyperhidrosis, they do carry certain risks, including infection and permanent damage to the nerves.

4. The Right Foods

If you don't like the thought of getting injections, taking prescription drugs, or going through surgery, a more natural alternative to combat excessive sweating is to simply eat the right foods. Some foods are easier to digest than others, which reduces the amount of stress the body experiences when breaking down the food. This in turn will help reduce your internal body temperature, which helps to alleviate sweating.

Some of the best foods to eat include:

  • Fruits and vegetables that are high in water content
  • Foods that are high in calcium
  • Oats
  • Almonds
  • Sweet potatoes

It's also important to make sure your body is getting adequate amounts of water. You should also avoid spicy foods and alcohol.
